There’s not many people I take my watch off for – but when I have lunch with Pete Bevan, time becomes an irrelevance….
I’ve known Pete for over 20 years now. His importance to my career cannot be understated. The wise words he told me at the start not only shaped my path, but have spurred me on during every high and low since.
We first got to know one another when he was known as Pete from Harrods; and then grew so much closer working side by side for many years running the Knight Frank Kensington office. To my mind, he is the most experienced agent in Prime Central London. And one of the people I respect most in this industry; whose opinion I value most highly.
Together, we have amassed more than £50m in transactions over the past few years. Incredible properties that have represented landmark deals for us all.
Collaborating with Pete and his vastly experienced team – pooling our knowledge, contacts, and reach – exemplifies the importance of partnership. Especially through the testing times that we find ourselves in. Any agent that believes they can go out on their own and do everything themselves is wrong. Teamwork makes every individual offer stronger; vitally joining every dot throughout complex and highly sensitive negotiations.
But as Pete always says – we must always make sure we have fun doing what we do. When you stop having fun, go do something else.
As the world constantly throws up new challenges, these lunches remind me just how much fun I get to have. I am privileged to do what I do. To work with Pete, and others like him. To represent clients that truly value what we bring to the table. It makes it easy to go the extra mile for them all – every single time.
